Force Motors introduces 200,000th Mercedes-Benz engine in India
Mumbai, 18 June 2026: Force Motors Limited today announced the roll-out of the 200,000th engine from its state-of-the-art engine manufacturing plant at Chakan, Pune. This is a very important step in their product collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.
The collaboration between Force Motors and Mercedes-Benz in the field of engine manufacturing began in 1997 and has now evolved into a comprehensive partnership. This includes manufacturing engines and axles for all Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs manufactured in India.
This acquisition of the 200,000th engine underscores a relationship based on trust, technical excellence, shared values and a mutual commitment to increase manufacturing capacity in India. This special 200,000th 6-cylinder M256 engine manufactured by Force Motors is fitted to the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 model.

The historic milestone was celebrated in the presence of a high-level delegation from Mercedes-Benz, which included Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors Limited and members of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG.
