Former Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain arrested again, action in Jal Board case

Former Delhi government minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday. His arrest has been made in connection with the Delhi Jal Board scam case. ACB has also arrested five other people in this case.

 

The case was registered on a complaint by the Directorate of Vigilance, GNCTD, in connection with large-scale irregularities in the tendering process, manipulation of tender conditions and criminal conspiracy related to augmentation/upgradation of sewage treatment plants of Delhi Jal Board.

These five were also arrested

Apart from former Delhi Water Minister Jain, the people arrested by the ACB include IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai, former CEO of Delhi Jal Board, former contract consultant Ankit Srivastava, Nagendra Yadav, proprietor of AN Enterprises, Raja Kumar Kurra, owner of Eurotech Environment Pvt Ltd and Pankaj Verma of Proprietor M/s Srijanhar.

What are the allegations?

It is alleged that the technical conditions of the tender were changed in such a way that a particular company 'Euroteck Environment Pvt. Ltd.' Can be directly benefited. Without conducting the proposed pilot test, such conditions were added, which ended the competition of other companies. This caused financial loss to the Delhi government exchequer.
