According to the police complaint lodged by the Ganguly family and his personal assistant, the letter was opened in Sourav Ganguly's office on Monday. The letter was written entirely in English and threatened to 'eliminate' the cricketer and his family.
According to family sources, such letters have been received for the last six months. Earlier these were ignored as letters sent by over-excited fans. But after receiving continuous letters and the aggressive language used in the latest letter, the family contacted the police.

Arun Kumar's name also appeared on Truecaller from the same number.
