The fast bowler Kwena Maphaka and wicket-keeper batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius have been named in the South Africa squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia.
The 20-year-old, Maphaka, has played a total of 3 ODIs and 18 T20Is, picking one and 19 wickets respectively. On the other hand, Pretorius has played 3 ODIs and 13 T20Is putting up 142 and 201 runs respectively.
The Proteas men will first compete in the T20I tri-nation series against Namibia and Zimbabwe, set to begin on August 28. while the ODI series will begin on September 09.
With the regular captains Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma rested for the series, Bjorn Fortuin will be leading the side for both T20I and ODI assignments.
Meanwhile, the frontline attack, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, Corbin Bosch and Keshav Maharaj are also not travelling in the group.
Marcon Jansen’s twin brother, Duan Jansen, has earned his maiden national call-up after impressing in domestic cricket. Meanwhile, All-rounder Eathan Bosch is the other uncapped T20I player in the squad, while Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann and Nqobani Mokoena have received their maiden ODI call-ups.
The team will feature players like Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, Kwena Maphaka, Lutha Sipamla, Jason Smith, Marco jansen Prenelan Subrayen, and Rubin Hermann.

“We’ve selected one squad for both series as we feel we have all departments well covered and it provides a great opportunity for players to build on their international caps,” said South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad.
“We saw glimpses of what Connor and Nqobani can offer during the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this year. It was unfortunate that Jordan picked up an injury in the opening match of that series, so we’re looking forward to seeing him get another opportunity at this level.”
“This tour has also opened the door for players who have performed domestically. Duan is one of those players. He is a quality all-rounder who has also shown great character for the Titans.”
Bjorn Fortuin, who has not played international cricket since November 2025, may see this as an opportunity to resurrect what seemed to be a short-lived stint in South African colours.
“Bjorn is an experienced player and proven leader who has successfully captained the Lions, and we have every confidence in his ability to lead this group.”
