Foundation stone of 200 bedded hostel at a cost of Rs 7 crore in Ramakrishnanagar College of Sribhoomi district

Shribhoomi: The auspicious foundation stone of 200 bed capacity Boys Hostel for the students of Ramakrishnanagar College in Sribhoomi district, to be built at a cost of Rs 7 crore, was laid on Sunday, September 20. The foundation stone of the hostel was laid by popular MLA from Ramakrishnanagar, Vijay Malakar. On this occasion, MLA Vijay Malakar said that the construction of the proposed hostel will provide a lot of facilities to the students coming to study in the college from remote areas of Ramakrishnanagar assembly constituency and other areas. He said that with the availability of residential facilities, students will get a better environment for studies and the practical difficulties faced in attaining higher education will be reduced.

Ramakrishnanagar College is one of the leading educational institutions in the area. A large number of students from far-flung areas come to study in the college. In such a situation, the construction of a boys hostel with 200 bed capacity is being seen as an important facility for the students. At present the college has a hostel with a capacity of 75 seats for girl students. The newly constructed Boys Hostel will be especially useful for those students who have to travel long distances every day to reach the college. With the availability of hostel facilities, students are expected to have a safe and conducive residential environment for regular studies.

Ramakrishnanagar College Principal Dr. Arjun Chandra Devnath, Governing Body President Abhijeet Nath, Dr. Dipankar Pal, BJP Bhairabnagar Mandal President Hiresh Biswas, Ramakrishnanagar Mandal President Pritam Pal, Municipal Commissioner and students of the college were present in the foundation stone laying program. According to the government tender document, the estimated cost of the project for the construction of SC Boys Hostel at Ramakrishnanagar College has been set at ₹7 crore.

On this occasion, students and local people welcomed the initiative of construction of hostel and said that this will facilitate the students of rural and remote areas to get higher education. The students expressed gratitude to MLA Vijay Malakar for this initiative. The construction of the hostel is being seen as an important step towards strengthening the higher education infrastructure in the area.
