4 houses and suspension bridge washed away due to flood in Gorkha, Nepal, alert issued in Budhi Gandaki river basin

Nepal Floods: So far, 1,344 bodies have been found in the flood that hit Nepal on August 26, while about 5 thousand people are still missing. This disaster has caused a loss of about 400 billion Nepali rupees to the neighboring country. Meanwhile, four houses and a suspension bridge were washed away in floods in Therang river in the hill district Gorkha on Sunday morning.

There is no news of any casualty in Gorkha due to flood in Therang river. But, the administration has issued an alert in the Budhi Gandaki river basin. According to Gorkha Police, as soon as the information about rising water in the river was received, people came out of their homes and reached a safe place. Therefore there were no casualties. However, the people of Nepal are deeply shocked by the sudden floods last month.

This disaster not only took the lives of thousands of people, but also caused huge economic loss to Nepal. The impact of floods is now visible on tourism business also. According to the report of Kathmandu Post, bookings of hotels and travel companies have started getting canceled in Nepal's peak tourist season of September to November.
