A decision by Macron created a stir in Russia! Now deadly weapons of France will be made on Ukrainian soil
France Grants Ukraine Missile Production License: Amidst the ongoing fierce war with Russia, a big and relief news has emerged for Ukraine. France has announced the granting of official license to Ukraine for domestic production of its advanced missiles, air defense interceptors and glide bombs.
French President Emmanuel Macron at the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ This historic decision was announced at a press conference after the summit. This is the first time that France has given a country the right to produce its weapons on Ukrainian soil.
Which weapons will be produced?
Many lethal weapon systems have been included under this roadmap signed between President Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The deal primarily covers SCALP long-range air-launched cruise missiles, Aster air defense interceptors and AASM precision-guided air-to-ground bombs.
This move will significantly increase Ukraine’s ability to strike deep into Russia, as it will no longer have to rely solely on foreign shipments for the supply of these weapons.
Radar systems will also get strength
Apart from missile production, France is also going to equip Ukraine with its next generation defense systems. President Macron has announced that France will transfer state-of-the-art radar systems to Ukraine as well as 16 ‘Rafale’ Fighter aircraft will also be given.
However, these Rafale aircraft are expected to be operational in Ukrainian airspace by the year 2028 or 2029. Additionally, Kiev has also ordered the next generation SAMP/T air defense system, deliveries of which are scheduled to begin soon.
Increasing cooperation of European countries
This decision of France came after US President Donald Trump declared Ukraine a ‘Patriot’ This comes just after the decision to license the production of missiles. Ukraine had been seeking permission to manufacture these missiles for a long time so that it could give a befitting reply to Russian ballistic missile attacks.
Meanwhile, Ukraine and nine other European countries have also launched the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition, which aims to strengthen Europe’s missile defense capabilities and counter Ukraine’s domestic ‘Freya’ To assist in the development of air defense systems.
