New Delhi. The last phase of August is going to be very interesting for film lovers. Especially if you are interested in films like horror, suspense thriller and science fiction, then the coming two weekends are bringing many different types of stories in theatres. Some big names are associated with these Hollywood films and their stories also seem different from the traditional formula. On one side there is fear and mystery and on the other side a world will be shown where humans will face the challenge of survival. There is also a good presence of horror and science fiction films in the release list of August.

First of all, if we talk about Insidious: Out of the Further, then this film can become the center of attraction for horror lovers. This film is being released in theaters on 21 August 2026. According to Sony Pictures, the story revolves around a mother named Gemma who lives with her daughter in the same house where she grew up. She discovers that she can enter the mysterious world The Further. But the story becomes more dangerous when it also gives way to the evil forces present there to come into the real world. This time fear will not be limited to the other world only, but the real world can also come under its influence. Lin Shaye will also be seen in the film along with Amelia Eve and Brandon Perea.

After this, The Dog Stars will be in front of the audience on August 28. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film tells the story of a world after a devastating pandemic. In the film, Jacob Elordi's character Higg lives in a time when almost the entire human population has been wiped out. He lives in a world full of dangers with his dog and former Marine Bangley. A distant radio signal gives him hope and he tries to find out if a better life still exists somewhere in the world. A strong combination of mystery and adventure along with survival will be seen in the film.

Tony will also reach the audience on 28th August itself. The film tells a story inspired by the younger days of renowned chef and author Anthony Bourdain. Dominic Cessa plays the role of young Borden in the film. The story follows 19-year-old Anthony who, after arriving in Provincetown, enters the world of a very chaotic restaurant kitchen. From here begins the phase of his life which later shapes his identity. The film focuses on a significant period of his life rather than a traditional birth-to-death biopic.

The End of Oak Street has already hit the theaters internationally from August 14 and is releasing in India from August 21. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor in lead roles. The story is based on a mysterious astronomical event when the entire Oak Street suddenly disappears from its place and ends up in an unknown world. After this, the family faces the challenge of survival and they have to stay united amidst strange threats. According to Warner Bros India, the film is being released in theaters in India along with English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

  • Overall, the last two weekends of August are going to be very special for the viewers who like horror and thriller along with science fiction and biographical drama. The stories of these films are completely different from each other, hence the audience will have many options to choose the film as per their choice.
