ICC ODI Rankings: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ODI rankings on Wednesday (August 5). Players from the Netherlands, Nepal, and Namibia have made significant gains in these rankings. The Netherlands team is in excellent form in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 competition. Recently, the Netherlands defeated Nepal by 57 runs in Utrecht. Former captain Scott Edwards played an innings of 57 runs against Nepal in this match.
With this, the Netherlands further consolidated their position in the top four of the League 2 standings. Scott Edwards has been rewarded by the ICC for his outstanding performance. Edwards has gained four places in the latest ODI batting rankings. He is now ranked 34th in the ODI rankings.
The bowlers also had a great time
In addition to the Netherlands, players from Nepal have also gained in the rankings. In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, veteran spinner Roelof van der Merwe jumped 11 places after taking two wickets against Nepal. They are now jointly ranked 63rd. Roelof’s teammate Logan van Beek has also moved up three places to 76th. Besides the Netherlands, three players from Nepal have also gained. Nepal’s Lalit Rajbongshi has moved up one place to 45th, while Karan KC has climbed seven places to 83rd. Namibian players also received rewards
In addition to the Netherlands and Nepal, Namibia also participated in the League 2 tri-series. Four Namibian players have also benefited in the latest ODI rankings. Jan Frylinck has jumped 16 places to 90th among batsmen. Ruben Trumpelmann has climbed five places to 87th among bowlers. Furthermore, Bernard Scholtz has moved up one place to 34th.
India shines in ODI rankings
Indian batsmen continue to dominate the ICC ODI rankings. Indian captain Shubman Gill is the world’s number one batsman in ODIs. Virat Kohli is ranked third, while Rohit Sharma is fourth.
