India’s startup funding activity picked up pace in the third week of August, with nineteen startups raising a combined $233.2 Mn. Between August 17 and 21, startups raised 67% more capital than the $139.5 Mn raised by 12 startups during the previous week.
This week’s funding activity was fuelled by global VC firm Prosus’ $100 Mn (over ₹955 Cr) investment in IPO-bound fintech major Naviwhich accounted for a significant share of the total capital raised during the week.

- At a sectoral level, fintech led this week’s startup funding trends in India. Navi and Rezolv raised $112.5 Mn this week, or nearly half of the $233.1 Mn raised by startups overall.
- Consumer services was a distant second, with three deals bringing in $47.2 Mn, helped by BookMyShow’s raise. Important to mention that sectors AI, advanced hardware & technology and ecommerce recorded the same number of deals.
- Early stage funding remained active this week, with nine seed and pre-Series A startups raising around $9.3 Mn across disclosed deals. This excludes two pre-seed deals, Tross and Neuromod Aqua, where the funding amount was not disclosed.

- D2C consumer appliances startup Atomberg has filed its DRHP with SEBI for an IPO comprising a fresh issue of up to ₹450 Cr and an OFS of up to 7.65 Cr shares by existing investors.
- Fintech startup upstox has started preliminary talks with investment bankers for a potential IPO that could raise around $400 Mn through a combination of fresh shares and an OFS.
