These banks are issuing checkbooks with alpha numeric codes. Banks are sending SMS and e-mails to customers regarding the new check book. In which it is being advised to get a new check book.

Under the new rules, after December 31, 2026, only such checks of Rs 50 thousand or more will be accepted, which will have alpha numeric code. In such a code there is a special combination of numbers with English letters. Due to which the identity and security of the check becomes more solid. To prevent check fraud, banks have set rules regarding alpha numeric cheques. Banks also charge a fee for issuing a new check book. Banks have fixed different fees for check books. If you take a new alpha numeric check book, the bank will deduct money from the account as per its rules.

Before this, there have been many incidents of fraud or increasing the amount through cheque. After this, banks had made a rule that if the amount is Rs 5 lakh or more, the person issuing the check will be confirmed by calling him. Apart from this, it was also made necessary to tell the bank a special code written on the cheque. Even today many people transact through cheques. Especially businessmen use checkbooks. The reason for this is that there is a ban on cash transactions of more than Rs 2 lakh. If you have a check book, go to your bank branch and get the information now.
