Punjab Development: The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today approved the ‘Ranjitgarh Development Authority (RDA) Bill, 2026’. This decision was taken during the cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Giving information in this regard, the Chief Minister’s Office said that ‘Ranjitgarh Development Authority Bill, 2026’ will pave the way for the establishment of ‘Ranjitgarh Development Authority’ (RDA) for the planned and sustainable development of Ranjitgarh Dam and Shahpur Kandi Dam areas.
Daily functioning and inter-departmental coordination
R.D.A. It will be set up as a statutory body under the administrative control of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. It will be given necessary administrative, financial and regulatory powers for integrated development, land management, implementing projects and proper management of tourist destinations.
The chairman of this authority will be Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, while the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs will be its vice-chairman. An executive committee headed by the Chief Secretary will oversee its daily functioning and inter-departmental coordination.
Green signal for recruitment of staff in office
The Cabinet has also approved creation of new posts of Drivers in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab. These posts have been created by surrendering the posts of Sevadars and one permanent post of Muharrir out of 19 permanent posts. The move is aimed at further streamlining the functioning of the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
One year teaching experience in Nursing education…
The Cabinet also approved amendment to Appendix-B of ‘Punjab Nursing Education Service Rules (Group B), 2016’ for filling up the posts of Tutors in Government Nursing Colleges, Patiala and Amritsar under the Department of Medical Education and Research through promotion.
These posts will be filled from among the staff nurses and nursing sisters working on regular basis under the control of Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab, who have completed M.Sc. in the relevant field. (Nursing). Preference will be given to candidates having one year teaching experience in nursing education.
Approval to regularize services of non-teaching staff in Picts
The Cabinet has also given its consent to regularize the services of non-teaching staff working on contract under ‘Punjab Information and Communication Technology Education Society’ (PICTS). The employees to be regularized will be given the benefit of regularization of services in the pay scale prescribed under PICS.
