Aligarh:In view of the festival of Navratri in Aligarh, the team of Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) has raided food shops. This action created panic among food traders. The team has recovered 133 kg of buckwheat flour by raiding the flour mill and Ram Pilai center in Fafala area of Mahavir Ganj in Delhi Gate area of the police station. The value of the recovered flour is said to be around Rs 16 thousand.

According to the information, this raid was conducted under the leadership of Food Safety Officers Mahendra and Tribhuvan. A large number of devotees observe fast during Navratri and buckwheat flour is used in the fast. In such a situation, the Food Safety Department seems to be active in ensuring the quality and purity of food items. Due to increase in demand for food items during festivals, the department inspects shops and food establishments so that safe food items can be provided to the consumers. In this sequence, this action was taken in Faphala area of Mahavir Ganj, Aligarh. The recovery of 133 kg of buckwheat flour during the raid has become a topic of discussion.
Keeping an eye on further action
Official information about whether samples of the recovered flour have been taken or not, what has been revealed in its quality check and what further action will be taken against the concerned establishment has not been revealed yet. Now it has to be seen what facts come out in the investigation of the Food Safety Department and what further steps the department takes to curb adulteration in view of the festival.
