‘Gandhari’ trailer introduces Taapsee Pannu as mother on dangerous mission

A mother’s search for her missing daughter becomes the centre of Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming action thriller Gandhi. The trailer of the Netflix film had been released and had introduced Taapsee as Bani, a woman who took a dangerous path to find her abducted child.

The story had been set in the fictional town of Joypurra, where Bani’s search had taken her through hidden secrets, fear and unexpected challenges. The trailer had shown the mysterious world of the town and introduced the Behrupiyas, who had been connected with its cultural identity.

Instead of waiting for official help, Bani had decided to continue the search on her own. Her journey had led her into difficult situations as she had tried to uncover the truth behind her daughter’s disappearance.

The film had marked one of Taapsee Pannu’s action roles, where she had performed intense sequences along with emotional scenes. Ishwak Singh had played Gokul, a father dealing with his daughter’s disappearance, while Jatin Sarna had appeared as Kabir, an officer investigating the case. Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Chhaya Kadam had also been part of the cast.

Speaking about her character Bani, Taapsee had said, “What stayed with me throughout Gandhari was Bani’s refusal to give up, even when everything seemed stacked against her.”

She had added, “The role demanded a great deal physically, but it was her resilience, conviction and unwavering spirit that truly drew me in.”

Director Devashish Makhija had shared that the film focused on building a mysterious world while exploring human emotions. He had said, “What drew me to Gandhari was the cinematic potential to visually build a mysterious, layered world that hasn’t been seen before on screen.”

Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, Gandhi had been scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 3. The film had featured Taapsee Pannu in the lead role with a cast that included Ishwak Singh, Jatin Sarna and other actors.
