Borussia Mönchengladbach are continuing to work on reducing their squad, with three players potentially heading for the exit before the summer transfer window closes.

The Foals have made no secret of their desire to trim the size of their squad, while departures would also provide some welcome transfer income. Joe Scally, Nathan Ngoumou and Tomas Cvancara are all among those who could leave Gladbach in the coming weeks.
Sporting director Rouven Schröder has now provided an update on the situation surrounding the trio, with signs that developments could be forthcoming.
Scally appears to be the most valuable of the three in terms of potential transfer income. According to Bild, the American could command a fee of around €7 million, while his contract is due to expire next summer.
“Something could definitely still happen there – his profile attracts attention,” Schröder is quoted as saying by the tabloid.
There has been speculation surrounding Scally’s future for some time, and Gladbach will be keen to avoid losing the 23-year-old for nothing next summer given the club’s reliance on transfer revenue.
There also appears to be growing interest in Ngoumou, with Schröder confirming that the winger is set to spend time training with another club abroad.
“Nathan will be training with another club abroad next week. He remains a sought-after player. At the same time, he’s difficult to reach after his long injury. That’s why we want to give him the opportunity to showcase his abilities.”
Head coach Eugen Polanski is believed to have “enough players” available in midfield, meaning there is little need for the 26-year-old within the current squad. Bild reports that Gladbach could receive around €1.5 million should Ngoumou depart.
Meanwhile, Cvancara is another player whose future remains uncertain. Schröder confirmed that there is interest in the Czech striker, with “several clubs interested.”
“However, one must also consider his long-term contract with us, which doesn’t necessarily fit the current market.”
Cvancara remains tied to Gladbach until 2028, giving the club a stronger negotiating position than with Scally.
Nevertheless, Schröder appears to expect a solution to be found for the 25-year-old, adding: “There are many clubs looking for a striker. I can’t imagine Tomas sitting in the stands with us in two months.”
Gladbach are reportedly hoping to receive around €3 million for Cvancara, meaning the departures of all three players could provide the club with a useful injection of transfer funds before the window closes.
