New Delhi. Today, on 19 September 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the international conference on 'The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics' organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This two-day conference is being organized by 'National Green Tribunal' i.e. NGT. In this, judicial representatives from 17 countries along with environmental experts, judges, senior officials and representatives of various institutions are participating.

Prime Minister Modi raised the issue of climate justice and carbon emissions prominently in his address. He said that before placing the responsibility of carbon emissions on developing countries, per capita emissions and historical responsibility should also be kept in mind. He said India's per capita carbon emissions are less than half the global average, while per capita emissions in developed countries are almost six times higher than India's. The Prime Minister presented this data in his address to explain India's climate outlook.
Apart from this, PM Modi also mentioned various initiatives of India for environmental protection like International Solar Alliance, Global Biofuels Alliance, International Big Cat Alliance and Mission LiFE. He also highlighted India's efforts in areas such as renewable energy, solar energy, clean transportation and green hydrogen. He also said that environmental protection is not only the responsibility of governments, but citizens, institutions and judiciary also have an important role in it. He stressed the need for effective implementation of environmental laws and strengthening environmental justice.
Let us tell you that issues like climate change, environmental protection, environmental justice and effective implementation of policies are being discussed in this international conference. The objective of this conference is to share the experiences of different countries and increase cooperation for future challenges related to the environment.
