Business Desk – Gold Silver Rate Today: Gold and silver prices are again rising on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. On the international commodity market Comex, the price of gold reached $ 4,478.70 an ounce at 7:25 am. Whereas silver was trading at $ 67.495 an ounce after a rise of 1.12%. Earlier on Monday, a fall in prices was recorded in both MCX and international markets.

Gold and silver prices also rose in the domestic futures market on Tuesday. On MCX, gold rose by 0.80% to Rs 1,53,800 per 10 grams. Silver was also trading 0.90% higher at Rs 2,41,256 per kg.

Gold of 999 purity Rs 15,270 per gram

According to the Indian Bullion Jewelery Association i.e. IBJA, the price of gold of 999 purity is Rs 15,270 per gram. However, prices of jewelery may vary in different cities depending on tax, making charges and local market.

24 carat gold in Delhi Rs 15,429 per gram

Talking about city-wise prices, on Tuesday in Delhi, 24 carat gold was Rs 15,429 per gram, 22 carat gold was Rs 14,144 and 18 carat gold was Rs 11,575 per gram.

The price of 24 carat gold in Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata is Rs 15,414 per gram. In these cities, 22 carat gold is Rs 14,129 per gram. In Chennai, 18 carat gold is Rs 11,899, while in Mumbai and Kolkata it is Rs 11,560 per gram. In Hyderabad and Pune also, 24 carat gold is Rs 15,414, 22 carat gold is Rs 14,129 and 18 carat gold is Rs 11,560 per gram.

How much is silver worth today?

Talking about silver, the price of one kg silver in Chennai on Tuesday is Rs 2,54,900. Whereas in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad, silver is priced at Rs 2,49,900 per kg.

Gold and silver rose on MCX

On Monday, on Multi Commodity Exchange i.e. MCX, gold closed at Rs 1,52,750 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,38,996 per kg. On Tuesday, both rose and gold reached Rs 1,53,800, while silver reached Rs 2,41,256. Whereas on Bullions.co.in, the price of gold has been recorded at Rs 1,53,290 per 10 grams and the price of one kg silver has been recorded at Rs 2,38,680.

Why are the prices of gold and silver changing?

At present, many international factors are influencing the prices of gold and silver. Precious metals remain volatile due to the changing situation in the Middle East and increasing geopolitical tensions.

Apart from this, there is a fear of rapid increase in crude oil prices in the market.
