New Delhi. On Karwa Chauth festival, the price of gold has fallen by Rs 143352 per 10 grams and the price of silver has fallen by Rs 2138 to Rs 192267 per kg. These rates are at around 1.30 pm on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Today gold has become cheaper by only Rs 248 compared to silver. According to MCX data, gold was at a record high of Rs 1,93,096 on January 29 and since then till date it has become cheaper by Rs 49744. At the same time, the all time high of MCX Silver is Rs 4,20,048 and it has become cheaper by Rs 227781.

What is the price in the international market?
In the international market, spot gold fell 0.5 percent to $ 4,039.39 an ounce. At the same time, US Gold Futures for December delivery fell 0.6% and closed at $ 4,051.60 an ounce.
Impact of US Fed's decision on gold
The US Federal Reserve has maintained interest rates in the range of 3.75 percent to 4 percent. This decision was in line with market expectations. Generally, when interest rates increase, there is pressure on gold prices, because one does not get interest on keeping gold. In comparison, interest paying investment options can be attractive. However, gold prices are also affected by the movement of the dollar, inflation, global tensions and investor demand.
