It was the intention of Santosh Davkhar, the director of 'Gondhal', to bring Indian traditions and cultural richness into the plot of his film. Santosh Davkhar said that our India has a rich and proud culture, but we wanted to represent the culture through cinema. The film 'Gondhal', written and directed by Santosh Davkhar himself, tries to show psychological and cultural thrills. The story revolves around a newly married girl named Suman and the backdrop of 'Gondhal', a traditional religio-cultural ritual of Maharashtra. Suman is married to Anand. But after her marriage, her life takes an unexpected and tragic turn, the film explores the fears, restlessness, psychological struggles, and complexities of relationships in the human mind. The traditional 'gondhal' ritual is used not only as a spectacle, but also with the content and emotion of the story.
