Lucknow. In Uttar Pradesh, the government is running the Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme to provide financial help to disabled couples. Under this scheme, a maximum financial assistance of Rs 35 thousand is given to the eligible husband and wife on the basis of their disability. Online applications have been invited from eligible couples in Chandauli district.
35 thousand rupees if both are disabled
According to the rules of the scheme, if the husband is disabled, assistance of Rs 15,000 is given and if the wife is disabled, assistance of Rs 20,000 is given. If both husband and wife become disabled, a total incentive amount of Rs 35,000 is given. To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary to have a certificate of at least 40 percent disability. It is also necessary for the couple to be native of Uttar Pradesh and fulfill the prescribed residential conditions.
Who can apply?
For the scheme, husband's age should be between 21 to 45 years and wife's age should be between 18 to 45 years. There should not be any income tax payer in the couple. Also, neither of them should have an already living spouse. It is also necessary for the application to be registered and the necessary documents available within the prescribed period after the marriage.
Documents required for application
While applying online, photo of bride and groom, Aadhar card, disability certificate, marriage certificate, documents related to age and residence will have to be uploaded. Apart from this, details of joint bank account will also have to be given. Income and caste certificates can also be asked as per requirement.
