Good news for farmers of UP, government will give subsidy of Rs 25 thousand

Meerut. The government has started a relief scheme for the potato seed producing farmers of Western Uttar Pradesh. Eligible farmers producing quality potato seeds will be given a grant of up to ₹ 25 thousand per hectare. The objective of the scheme is to increase the production of good seeds in the state and strengthen the income of farmers.

To avail the benefits of the scheme, farmers will first have to get the potato seeds produced certified. For this it will be necessary to obtain a certificate from the UP Seed Potato Institute. After certified seeds, farmers will be able to register themselves with the District Horticulture Department.
