Lucknow: There is good news regarding metro connectivity for the people living in Noida and Greater Noida West. The long awaited Aqua Line metro extension project is likely to be approved soon. If everything progresses as per plan, then in the coming time, traveling from Sector-51 to Greater Noida West will become easier and faster than before. This project is expected to provide relief to millions of passengers from the hassle of traffic jams and long distances.
Noida Metro Rail Corporation intensified preparations
According to the information, Noida Metro Rail Corporation has intensified its preparations for this project. It is being told that the Public Investment Board has called NMRC officials to give a presentation of the project. It is believed that this metro extension may get formal approval by the second week of June. After getting the approval, the processes related to construction work will be expedited.
Under the proposed expansion project, about 7.5 km long metro corridor will be built from Sector-51 to Greater Noida West Sector-4 i.e. Kisan Chowk. A total of five new stations are planned to be developed on this route. These will include Sector-61, Sector-70, Sector-122, Sector-123 and Greater Noida West Sector-4. With the construction of these stations, a large population of the surrounding area will directly benefit from metro facilities.
According to reports, the tender process and other administrative formalities of the project can be completed in the next three months. After this, there is a possibility that the construction work will start before Diwali. Officials believe that after the completion of this project, the public transport system between Noida and Greater Noida West will become stronger and more convenient than before.
Rapidly increasing population in Greater Noida West
At present, the population in Greater Noida West is increasing rapidly, due to which the pressure of vehicles on the roads is continuously increasing. People have to face long traffic jams during peak hours. In such a situation, the metro extension project can prove to be a big relief for the area. Having a better metro network will not only reduce travel time, but will also provide people with safe, cheap and comfortable transportation options. It is estimated that about five lakh people will directly benefit from this project.
