The work of modernization of Veer Bahadur Singh Planetarium of Gorakhpur has been completed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate it in the first week of November and watch the first show. The construction of Mahant Avedyanath Knowledge-Science Park has also been completed.
Gorakhpur: After the completion of the revival work of Mahant Avedyanath Knowledge-Science Park and Veer Bahadur Singh Planetarium, preparations for the inauguration have intensified. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate Nakshatrashala in the first week of November and will also watch the first show on this occasion. Science and Technology Minister Anil Kumar has inspected the projects and given instructions to complete the remaining work on time.
Inauguration will take place in the first week of November
After the completion of the revival work of Mahant Avedyanath Knowledge-Science Park and Veer Bahadur Singh Planetarium in Gorakhpur, preparations for their inauguration have now started. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate Veer Bahadur Singh Nakshatrashala in the first week of November. On the occasion of inauguration he will also watch the first show of Nakshatrashala.
Earlier on Thursday, Science and Technology Minister Anil Kumar conducted on-site inspection of both the projects. He instructed the executing agency Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) and the representatives of the three firms engaged in construction to complete all the work within the stipulated time limit.
The minister said that there should be no compromise on the quality of work. Principal Secretary Science and Technology Pandhari Yadav and Director-Secretary of Science and Technology Council Uttar Pradesh Ramesh Chandra were also present during the inspection.
Knowledge-Science Park being built with ₹18.60 crore
₹18.60 crore is being spent on the construction of Mahant Avedyanath Knowledge-Science Park. During the inspection, the Minister took stock of the progress of the ongoing work in various parts of the park.
Ancient Indian Science Gallery, Innovation Lab, Fun Science and Space Science Gallery are being built in the park. Apart from this, model installation work of outdoor science model, entrance plaza, cafeteria, pathway, open air theatre, bus parking and dinatorium was also inspected.
The Minister also saw the progress of Astronomy and Indian Space Program Gallery and installation of Aluminum Dome. The park focuses on developing scientific temper and spirit of innovation among the students through interactive science models and modern scientific exhibitions.
Nakshatrashala modernized with ₹46.88 crore
₹46.88 crore is being spent on the modernization of Veer Bahadur Singh Planetarium. After the inspection, the Science and Technology Minister held a meeting with the GDA and representatives of M/s Chandra Events and Production Pvt. Ltd., M/s Khushi Enterprises and M/s Infovision Technologies Pvt. Ltd. engaged in the construction.
The remaining work was reviewed in the meeting and instructions were given to complete all the work within the stipulated time. In the modernized planetarium, arrangements are being made to explain astronomy and space science in a simple and interesting way through new technology.
During the inspection, GDA Vice President Abhinav Gopal, Chief Engineer Kishan Singh, Assistant Engineer Rajbahadur Singh, Planetarium Scientific Officer Mahadev Pandey and other officials were present.
