Government cornered on paper leak, voice will be raised in the House till the resignation of Education Minister: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments over the paper leak issue. He said that the BJP government is playing with the future of students and youth and until the Union Education Minister resigns, the Samajwadi Party will continue to raise this issue both in Parliament and on the streets.

While talking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav said that re-conducting the NEET exam is proof that there were serious flaws in the examination process. He said that the government should accept the demands of the students and candidates and take necessary steps to provide justice to the families affected by the paper leak.

The SP chief alleged that question papers of competitive examinations are continuously being leaked during the tenure of the BJP government. He said that the incidents of paper leaks have increased during the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments, due to which the future of the youth has been affected. He alleged that the government wants to deprive the youth of employment and reservation.

Akhilesh Yadav also raised questions on police action during the recent student movements. He alleged that male and female students participating in the peaceful protest were beaten, lathicharged and misbehaved. He said that there have been reports of people in plain clothes using sticks during the protest, which should be investigated impartially.

He said that the government should clarify who were the people who used sticks on the protesters. If an impartial investigation is not conducted, serious questions will be raised on the functioning of the government. The SP chief alleged that efforts are being made to suppress the voices of those who express their views in a democratic manner, whereas the responsibility of the government is to listen to the people and solve their problems.
