Siddharthnagar.

A heart-wrenching incident came to light on Thursday afternoon at Baidauli Ghat of Banganga River in Shohratgarh police station area. During the funeral rites of Kanchan Devi (85 years), wife of late Ram Mukut, of Tola Mijuniya of Gram Panchayat Madhwapur, three youths went missing in the waters of Banganga river at around 1:30 pm. There is chaos in the area after the incident.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Shohratgarh Tehsildar Prakash Singh and Shohratgarh police station in-charge Inspector Naveen Kumar Singh etc. reached the incident site at Baidauli Ghat. With the help of local divers, residents of Mizhunia village, who were drowned in water, started searching for Shiva (17 years), son Rammurat, Ravi (17 years), son Ramroop and Monu (18 years), son Bablu.

Till the time of writing the news, the missing youth could not be traced. People like Jai Prakash Pandey, Janardan, Dharmesh, Sarwan Kumar etc. say that it is difficult to search in deep water without the steamers and soldiers of NDRF, SDRF.

Shohratgarh MLA Vinay Verma immediately contacted the district administration and concerned officials, informed them about the incident and asked for immediate action by taking appropriate steps. Present on the spot, SDM Shohratgarh Rajesh Kumar, CO Mayank Dwivedi, Shohratgarh Tehsildar Prakash Singh and Shohratgarh police station in-charge Inspector Naveen Kumar Singh along with their colleagues are engaged in relief work and search for drowned children. According to the administration, relief and search operations are going on war footing and senior officials are constantly monitoring the rescue situation.
