Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda alias JP Nadda held a press conference on the students’ protest at the BJP office on Wednesday night. He clarified that this matter should neither be politicized nor taken political advantage of. He described the students’ issue as a deep problem and said that it needs to be discussed in depth. The Union Minister took on Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and accused him of taking political advantage on the students’ issue.
Nadda said, ‘We should move beyond allegations and counter-allegations and discuss this. The best forum for discussion is Parliament and we are ready for this discussion. This should be discussed in detail and in depth. What are the reasons for paper leak? Who are involved in this and what steps has the Central Government taken on this? Whenever the issue of paper leak came up, how did we handle it and how should other governments handle it? What should we think about deeply and find a solution so that injustice is not done to lakhs of students?

JP Nadda further said, ‘Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi gave a presentation in Parliament. In this he discussed about 150 paper leaks. This is a matter of investigation. There is a responsible government… Surely with investigation the milk of milk and water of water will be put before the public and the country.
Nadda said that every issue of paper leak will be discussed in Parliament. The government is ready to discuss in detail. The opposition should present its point and the government will respond to it. He further reiterated, ‘I once again assure you that the government led by PM Modi is a responsible and sensitive government. She always wants all issues to be discussed in Parliament and we are ready for that discussion.
Wangchuk in ICU… inquire about his well being: Nadda
On the meeting with social activist Sonam Wangchuk, JP Nadda said, ‘We had gone to know her well-being. He was shifted from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital. He was in ICU, so the environment there was very limited. During our meeting we asked about his health and well-being. We urged them to break their fast and join the mainstream and guide the children in the right direction. Our government is ready for dialogue on all issues and is always ready to resolve them. Today he wrote me an open letter. We will respond to that letter and after responding, we will ensure that the talks move forward.
Discussion took place in a good atmosphere with CJP
On the meeting with CJP representatives, JP Nadda said that the talks took place in a very good atmosphere. We listened to him very quietly. I also told him that it would be better if he gave his views in writing. He has given all those things in writing. I also told him that we are ready for talks. Whenever they wish, we are ready to discuss the matter. We did not have any meeting today.
From Kashmir to Jharkhand… Nadda counted paper leaks in opposition ruled states.
JP Nadda also raised the issue of Service Selection Board exam leak in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that there is a government of Congress and National Conference there. Similarly, the paper was leaked in the School Examination Board in Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress is in power. Even in Jharkhand, Hindi and Science papers were leaked in JAC, where Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are in power.
Nadda further said that Intermediate language paper was leaked in Telangana and there also we know that the government has the support of Congress and CPI. Language paper also leaked in SSC in Telangana. B.Ed paper was leaked in Tamil Nadu, at that time there was also an opposition party government.

Police constable recruitment exam paper leaked in West Bengal. At that time there was TMC government. Paper leaks and irregularities took place in the Group B examination of Punjab Subordinate Service Selection Board in Punjab. Similarly, there were irregularities in 26 PSC exam papers in Kerala. In Karnataka, where Congress is in power, the paper was leaked in the preparatory board examination. PUC paper leaked. This is quite a long list, which we will discuss when the time is right.
‘Rahul Gandhi wants to take political advantage’
He further said, ‘I want to ask opposition leader Rahul Gandhi why are you so selective? Why did you not discuss about UPA and UPA supported governments? Why have you kept distance from them? This clearly shows that your motive is not the welfare of the students. Reforming education, improving the quality of education and providing justice to students – you have no interest in this. You want to take political advantage of the students’ issues and demands. You want to take political advantage, which is unfortunate.
