Government, SIT and LDA team will conduct in-depth investigation in action mode on Lucknow fire incident which resulted in 15 deaths.
Lucknow : At least 15 people died and nine were injured after a fire broke out in a three-storey commercial building in Aliganj area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.
SIT formed for investigation
A two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to investigate this matter. According to a statement issued by the state government, the Chief Minister ordered the formation of SIT in a high-level meeting held late at night.
The team will submit the report in seven days
According to the statement, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Charity and Culture Department Amrit Abhijat and Lucknow Zone Additional Director General of Police Praveen Kumar have been included in the SIT and have been asked to submit the report within seven days.

The investigation into the massive fire that killed 15 people in Lucknow is starting from Tuesday. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed on the instructions of the Chief Minister can visit the incident site today and investigate all aspects related to the accident. It is believed that on the basis of inspection and evidence, the SIT will prepare its detailed report, which will be submitted to the Chief Minister. Further administrative and legal action will be decided on the basis of this report.
At the same time, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has also constituted a separate committee to investigate the matter. This committee can also reach the site today and check construction related documents, safety standards and other aspects. The administration is investigating at several levels to determine the causes of the accident and responsibility for possible negligence.
