Grand finale of UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championship, Payas Jain and Cinderella Das became champions

Kanpur, Read. The UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2026 held at The Sports Hub, Arya Nagar concluded with exciting matches and stellar performances from the young players. On the last day, players displayed high level table tennis in the final matches of men's, women's and under-19 categories.

Payas Jain won the men's singles title

In the men's singles final, Payas Jain of Delhi defeated Manav Thakkar of PSPB 4-1 to win the title of the competition. Payas won the match 11-3, 9-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-8. Payas played aggressively from the beginning and won the first game easily. Manav made a comeback in the second game and won 11-9, but after this Payas won the match and the title by winning three consecutive games.

Cinderella Das's double title

In the women's singles final, Cinderella Das won the women's singles title by defeating Divyanshi Bhowmik of Maharashtra 4-2. In the six-game match, Cinderella won 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 11-7, 11-9. Cinderella also won the Youth Girls Under-19 title. In the final she defeated Ananya 11-8, 10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 11-4. In this way Cinderella became the double champion of the competition.

Priyanuj Bhattacharya won the under-19 boys category

In the Youth Boys Under-19 final, RSPB's Priyanuj Bhattacharya defeated Tamil Nadu's P.B. Won the title by defeating Abhinand 4-3. In this exciting match that lasted seven games, Priyanuj won 9-11, 11-5, 11-3, 8-11, 21-23, 11-4, 11-7. The 21-23 clash in the fifth game was the most exciting moment of the match.

Many top seeded players faced tough challenges from younger players throughout the competition. Manush Shah, the top seed in men's singles, and Yashaswini Ghorpade, one of the top players in women's singles, also could not progress to the final stage. This indicated the strong presence of new emerging talents in Indian table tennis.

Presence of special guests at the closing ceremony

The closing ceremony was graced by the dignified presence of Commonwealth Table Tennis Federation President Dushyant Chautala, Chairman Vivek Kohli and Secretary M.P. Singh. On this occasion, UPTTA Chairman Sanjeev Pathak, Secretary Arun Banerjee, N. Ganesan, N. Of. Many distinguished guests including Lahari, Geeta Tandon Kapoor, Sanjay Tandon, Piyush Aggarwal, Praneet Aggarwal, Anil Gupta, Ajay Mehrotra, Ashish Kapoor and Sunil Singh were present.

The guests encouraged the winners and runners-up by giving them prizes. The eight-day national ranking tournament culminated with spectacular play, thrilling contests and a showcase of the emerging talents of Indian table tennis.
