Grandson crossed all limits of cruelty, raped 90 year old grandmother, then tried to kill her by strangulation

Haridwar:A very serious case has come to light from Mangalore, Haridwar. Here, a 90-year-old deaf and mute elderly woman along with her 23-year-old grandson have been accused of alleged rape and attempt to murder by strangulation. The woman died during treatment 26 days after the incident. According to the information, this incident took place on the night of July 16 in a village in the Kotwali area. It is alleged that the woman's grandson reached her house under the influence of alcohol at around 12 o'clock in the night. Other members of the family were sleeping at that time. Meanwhile, the accused allegedly entered the room of the elderly woman and raped her.

It is alleged that when the elderly woman tried to protest and make noise, the accused tried to kill her by strangulating her. About an hour later, the woman's granddaughter saw the accused coming out of the room. After this, when she reached the room, she found the elderly woman in a critical condition. As soon as information about the incident was received, other family members and nearby people also reached there. The villagers caught the accused.

The accused was already arrested and went to jail

After the incident, the family admitted the elderly woman to the hospital for treatment. A complaint was given to the police in this case on behalf of the woman's grandson. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under rape, assault and other serious sections. The police took action and arrested the accused, after which he was sent to jail. Meanwhile, the treatment of the elderly woman continued, but late on Monday evening her condition deteriorated and she died during treatment.

As soon as the information about the woman's death was received, the police reached the spot and collected necessary information related to the incident. Now the police is taking further action based on the evidence and other facts available in the case. Kotwali in-charge Bhagwan Singh Mehar said that information about the death of an elderly woman has been received. The matter is being investigated and the facts revealed after the death are also being included in the investigation.
