Great news for LPG customers! Now the rules of cylinder transfer and booking changed

If LPG gas cylinder is also used in your house, then this news is very important for you. Gas companies have now issued new guidelines regarding connection transfer, refill booking and shifting to PNG. If you are changing city, shifting house or thinking of getting piped gas, then it is very important for you to know these 6 big changes, otherwise you may have to face problems.

Inform the agency before changing address

If you are shifting your home, the first thing to do is to inform your gas agency (Indane, HP or Bharat Gas). You have to apply for connection transfer. During this time you will have to carry ID proof, new address proof, gas book and your original connection voucher. If you are changing homes within the same area, the distributor will update your address and your deliveries will continue without any interruption.

‘TTV’ mandatory after changing area

If you are shifting to an area that falls under the jurisdiction of another gas agency, you will need to obtain a ‘Transfer Termination Voucher’ (TTV) from your old agency. Without this document your connection will not be transferred to the new area. You will have to hand over this paper to the new distributor, only after which the process will be completed.

Cylinder regulator will have to be deposited when going to another city

If you are changing your city, you will have to return the old cylinder and regulator to the existing agency. In return, the agency will give you a termination voucher and your security deposit will be refunded. After reaching the new city, you will have to show these papers to the agency there, after which they will issue a new connection.

New consumer number and PNG option

When you hand over your TTV to the new distributor, they will convert it into a ‘Transfer Subscription Voucher’ (TSV). With this you will get a new consumer number. Keep in mind, without the new number you will not be able to book the cylinder. At the same time, if you want to move from LPG to piped gas (PNG), then first get information about the paper terms from your local agency. Lakhs of people have adopted PNG in the last six months, so it is very important to keep all the documents safe so that you do not face any problem in future.
