Patna. A big work is going to be done towards improving road connectivity in Bihar. To upgrade NH-333A, new bypasses will be constructed at six places simultaneously. The total length of these bypasses will be about 19.45 kilometers. Apart from this, work will also be done on two other parts of the road. In the entire project, there is a plan to develop about 21.821 km of road as per 2 lane plus paved shoulder standard.
Bypass roads will be built at these 6 places
The proposed bypasses will be built in Mangobandar, Kendua, Tolsona, Jhajha, Narganjo and Bhairoganj. Their objective is to reduce the traffic pressure on the main roads in the respective areas and to make the movement of vehicles more organized.
Road development with bypass
The project is not limited to just six bypasses. Under this, two other road stretches will also be prepared. Including these, there is a plan to develop about 21.821 km of road as per the standard of 2 lanes plus paved shoulder. This will strengthen the road system in many parts of NH-333A.
Tender process started
E-tender has been issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for this work. Updates and amendments related to the tender have also been issued. As per the current schedule, bids can be submitted till November 9, 2026, while bids will be opened on November 16, 2026.
Various works related to road improvement are already proposed on NH-333A. In such a situation, after the construction of the new bypass, the traffic system on this route is expected to improve and the local people will get convenience in transportation.
