Indians working in the US are in big trouble due to the decision of the Donald Trump administration. Famous IT company Cognizant has been accused of visa misuse. The argument of the Trump administration is that American citizens are suffering due to this manipulation by Cognizant. Therefore, the US administration is suspending all green card applications of Cognizant as a punishment. Note that there are many Indians working in Cognizant. Their problems may increase.
A few weeks ago, US Department of Labor official Anthony D'Esposito said dozens of subpoenas had been issued for alleged H1B visa irregularities. According to the investigators, several well-known American companies have illegally processed H1B visas. Cognizant is one of them. Although this organization was not placed in the guilty list at that time. But after a two-month investigation, it was found that there was sufficient evidence of visa irregularities against Cognizant. That is why the Permanent Labor Certification Program (PERM) applied for by the organization has been temporarily suspended.

Other organizations involved in the ban are also being investigated. This injustice to US citizens will not be tolerated. Handcuffs are waiting for you.' It is estimated that at least 27 thousand Indians work in various offices of Cognizant in the US. Many of them cross into the US through PERM.
Note that PERM is considered as the first step towards getting a green card. Companies in the U.S. hire foreign workers using this PERM. But before that, the company has to prove that US citizens are not eligible to do this job. It must also be ensured that US citizens are not harmed by foreign workers. Allegedly, Cognizant acted irregularly in this case. That is why all their PERM applications have been suspended for the time being.
