Hardik Pandya returns to the field after a long wait: One-day series to be played against Australia A on October 6 India-Foreign – REVOI

New Delhi, 10 September 2026: Big news has come out from the Board of Control for Cricket in India regarding the return of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya, who has been facing injuries and uncertainty for a long time, is ready to return to the cricket field on 6th October. Hardik, who did not play Test cricket after 2018, has established himself as the world's top fast-bowling all-rounder in the last few years, although his problem of frequent injuries has been a matter of great concern for the Indian team management.

After the T20 World Cup, Hardik Pandya could not play in the tour of Ireland, England and Zimbabwe. Not only this, he has not got a place in the Indian team for the series against Afghanistan starting from 13th September. Now Hardik Pandya has been included in the 15-member 'India A' one-day team announced by BCCI for the upcoming series against Australia 'A', due to which there is a wave of happiness among its fans.

Australia 'A' team's India tour is going to start from 22nd September. Two multi-day (first-class) matches will be played at the beginning of the tour, in which there is no participation. He will directly take the field in the one-day series, which will begin on Tuesday, October 6. However, the board has clarified that his playing against Australia 'A' will depend entirely on his fitness clearance. A few days ago, there were reports that he was close to getting the fitness certificate from the Center of Excellence, but he had to lose the Afghanistan series due to another leg injury during training.

  • The leadership of the Indian team is in the hands of Rituraj Gaikwad.

The captaincy of the 'India-A' team for the upcoming one-day series has been handed over to young opener Rituraj Gaikwad, while Devdutt Padikal has been made the vice captain of the team. Padikal will lead the team in multi-day matches.
