All three matches of the T20 series between India and Afghanistan will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The first match will be played on September 13, for which Indian players have already started arriving in Delhi. Quoting a BCCI source, PTI gave updates on Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar. The BCCI included all four players in the squad but clarified that their participation would depend on their fitness reports.
Harshit Rana finds it difficult to stay fit
A BCCI source said that Harshit Rana is not fully fit. His statement means that it is out of range. “He is not yet fully recovered from his hamstring injury. He will need more time,” he said. An injured Harshit returned for the England tour before the T20 World Cup but was injured again.
Declared fit for T20 series
Washington Sundar has been declared fit for the T20 series against Afghanistan. A BCCI source also gave updates on Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Bumrah is suffering from a knee injury, while Reddy is suffering from a quadriceps injury.
What’s the update on Bumrah and Reddy?
The source added, “Both Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy are set to return.” As for Bumrah, he has been out of cricket since the ODI tour of England in July due to a left knee injury.
