Health card registration increased to 40 lakh, our target is 100 percent coverage: Dr. Balbir Singh
Punjab News: Members, their families and club staff enthusiastically participated in the two day health camp organized on 11th and 12th April at Rajindra Gymkhana & Mahindra Club (RGMC), Patiala. This initiative is part of efforts by the Bhagwant Mann government to expand health services through the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana. The campaign highlights the need to ensure that every section of people are protected before any medical emergency, with a special focus on accessibility, inclusion and preventive healthcare.
The camp started at 9 am on both days and its main objective was to spread awareness about preventive health and to register the club members under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana.
Members participated with great enthusiasm
Club members participated in the camp with great enthusiasm. Many members appreciated this initiative and showed keen interest in getting the health card made. Realizing the importance of well-organized and comprehensive health coverage, many people got themselves registered along with their families.
Each Sehat Card provides cashless health cover up to ₹10 lakh per family per year, providing significant financial protection in times of medical emergencies. More than 35 lakh health cards have been issued so far across Punjab, while around 50,000 people are registering every day in different districts, which shows the growing confidence in the scheme.
Speaking during the event, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said, “Health cards are essential for everyone. As Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasizes, health comes first as the disease does not discriminate between a VIP and a common man.” Dr. Singh further said, “Our target is 100 percent health card coverage. We have increased from 34 lakh to 40 lakh registrations and are continuously moving towards covering every citizen.”
Health scheme got wide public support
RGMC member and PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja said, “It is encouraging to see that people are coming forward for their health. Influential members of the club like Vice Chancellors, MLAs, IAS officers, renowned doctors, industrialists and ministers all appreciated the health scheme and got their health cards made.”

Club Director Rahul Mehta said, “We have received a very good response. Club members, their families and staff also participated in the camp with great interest and happily got themselves registered for the health card.”
More than 500 people participated
More than 500 people participated in this two-day RGMC camp and registered for health cards. This initiative further strengthens the importance of early detection and health protection through health cards, thereby benefiting various sections of the society.

The success of the health camp at RGMC shows that accessible and convenient health initiatives can make a big impact at the grassroots level. Dr Singh said, “The treatment is completely cashless, we have already paid the insurance companies. Registration is simple, there is doorstep delivery facility, there are additional benefits for Ayushman card holders and the camps in villages, cities and markets ensure convenience for the people.”
Registration camp from 8 am to 4 pm
To reach out widely to the people, registration camps are being organized by the Bhagwant Mann Government every day from 8 am to 4 pm at accessible places like Gurudwaras, Panchayat houses, temples and community centers to ensure participation of maximum people.
The transport workforce was successfully registered under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana in a two-day health camp organized at PRTC Patiala earlier this month, thereby improving access to health services for this section.
