According to the report, of the total 39,21,480 tests conducted in the state, modern NAT tests account for 55% (21,48,102) and 45% tests are done by microscopy. Out of a total of 28,00,230 tests in rural areas, 47% (13,15,716) have been NANT tests, while the remaining 14,84,514 tests have been left to conventional microscopy, but only 25% in Solapur district, and only 29% in Washim and Beed have benefited from NANT testing. More than 80% of patients in these districts are still relying on old technology.

A senior official of the municipality's TB prevention program said that modern methods of detection of MDR TB patients are more convenient and early diagnostic methods are suitable. Apparent TB is a diagnostic method used for Mumbai. The official said that it is possible to understand early whether the patient is drug sensitive and drug resistance, smear method is used for follow up.
