Lucknow: The family of mafia leader Atiq Ahmed is mourning the death of his youngest son, Aban Ahmed, in a horrific road accident on the Jhansi-Kanpur National Highway. His two older brothers, Umar Ahmed and Ali Ahmed, who were in jail, have been granted parole by the Allahabad High Court to attend Aban’s funeral.
High Court granted parole with conditions
Umar and Ali are currently lodged in separate jails in Uttar Pradesh. They had filed a petition in the district court seeking permission to attend Aban’s funeral, which was rejected on Thursday evening. They subsequently appealed to the Allahabad High Court.
The court granted their parole petitions, stipulating that they not speak to the media during the funeral. During the hearing, the court also questioned the UP government about security arrangements. The government lawyer stated that adequate security would be provided to both. The court granted them parole for a few hours on this condition.
Aban’s funeral will be held this evening.
Aban’s body is currently being held at his aunt’s house in the Puramufti area of Prayagraj. According to the family, the last rites will be performed this evening at the Kasari-Masari cemetery. The administration has increased security at the cemetery and surrounding areas. A large police force has been deployed to deal with any untoward situation. Barricades are also being erected to monitor traffic.
The accident took place on Jhansi Highway
On Thursday, a speeding Creta car collided with a divider on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway near the Poonch police station area. Aban and his friend Sonu were killed on the spot. Three other young men in the car were injured.
A panel of three doctors at Jhansi Medical College conducted post-mortem examinations on both of them. The report stated that Aban and Sonu suffered severe brain hemorrhages due to the impact of the impact. Their internal organs, intestines, and heart were severely damaged. Both died at the scene due to excessive internal bleeding.
Aban was the youngest of Atiq Ahmed’s five sons. His elder brothers, Umar and Ali, are in jail on separate charges. Aban’s death has left the family in mourning. Now, after being granted parole, Umar and Ali will be able to attend their brother’s funeral.
