The US military seized Iranian cargo ships one by one by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. Not only that, they also allegedly stole oil from the ships. In this situation, US President Donald Trump compared the operation of the US Army to pirates.
The US President attended a rally in Florida on Saturday. Speaking there, he said, “The US military has masterfully captured Iranian ships. We have also taken oil from the ships. It is a very profitable business. We have carried out the whole operation just like pirates. It was not a game. It was all real.” Tehran has termed the seizure of Iranian ships and theft of oil as ‘robbery’. At the same time, they strongly condemned it. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai wrote on his X handle, ‘The pirates are back again. Such activities are against international law. America is trying to rationalize the whole thing, where the activities are completely illegal.’
It should be noted that from the end of February to the beginning of April, Iran-America was engaged in a bloody conflict. Iran was devastated by a series of drone-missile attacks. But Tehran did not withdraw from the fight. The entire Middle East was shocked by Iran’s response. US bases scattered there were initially targeted. But then Tehran started recklessly attacking various countries in the Middle East. Finally, after 40 days, the two countries agreed to a temporary ceasefire. However, permanent peace has not yet been established.
