Kanpur. The expensive HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine is now being made available free of charge to Kanpur’s girls to prevent cervical cancer. Under the Health Department’s campaign, 12,854 adolescent girls have been vaccinated in the district so far. Other eligible girls aged 14 to 15 are also being urged to come forward and take this protective shield. A single dose of this vaccine can cost thousands of rupees in private hospitals, while the government is providing it completely free of charge.
The HPV vaccine is a safe and effective means of preventing cervical cancer. To this end, the department is raising awareness among adolescent girls and their parents. Eligible adolescent girls should get vaccinated on time, without any hesitation or hesitation, and parents should also ensure their daughters get vaccinated to protect them from this serious disease.
The campaign has also been integrated with the regular vaccination program. The HPV vaccine is being administered to eligible adolescent girls at regular vaccination sessions held every Wednesday and Saturday. Additionally, special vaccination camps are being organized on Sundays to benefit as many girls as possible.
To ensure access to eligible adolescent girls, ASHA and Anganwadi workers have compiled due lists. Based on this, they are going door-to-door to inform girls and their parents about vaccination sessions and then inviting them to vaccination centers.
