‘I don’t have wings, no one can cut them…’, why did Fadnavis say this?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday downplayed Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray’s ‘Operation Devendra’ comment, saying he has the blessings of 14 crore people of the state and senior BJP leaders, so no one can clip his wings.
The Chief Minister on Friday also dismissed the political speculations that started after he traveled with his former aide and now rival Uddhav Thackeray in the same flight from Mumbai to Nagpur, calling it a mere ‘coincidence’.
‘It was just a coincidence’
Responding to the speculation going on in the political circles of Maharashtra, Fadnavis said, ‘It was just a coincidence. There is nothing unusual in two leaders traveling on the same plane. Sometimes I wonder whether we are in politics or ‘wedyancha bazaar’ (market of madmen).

‘No one can even cut their wings’
Fadnavis also rejected Thackeray’s ‘Operation Devendra’ comment and taunted that since they do not have wings, no one can even cut them. Fadnavis said this while talking to reporters after visiting Palghar district to review Vadhan port and other infrastructure projects.
‘Operation Tiger’ was actually ‘Operation Devendra’
Uddhav Thackeray, while addressing a rally on Saturday, had created a political stir by saying that ‘Operation Tiger’ was actually ‘Operation Devendra’, aimed at belittling the Maharashtra Chief Minister so that he could not be in the race for the (future) Prime Minister’s post. When asked about Thackeray’s comment, Fadnavis said, ‘Political issues are secondary for me. My entire focus is on development.

Get the blessings of your senior leaders
He said, ‘I am a human being. If I don’t have wings, who can cut them? I have the blessings of 14 crore people of Maharashtra and my senior leaders, so there is nothing to worry about.
Operation Tiger, a code name given to create a split in the Shiv Sena (UBT), saw six of its nine Lok Sabha MPs join the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena last week. Fadnavis expressed surprise at the political stir created by traveling in the same plane with Uddhav Thackeray on Friday.
