The matter of alleged assault and clash with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) team, which had come to inspect the poor condition of the government school in Jaipur, is now heating up. CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke issued a stern warning on Friday, saying that if action is not taken against the alleged attackers within the next 48 hours and work is not started to improve the condition of the school, then he himself will come to Jaipur and sit on an indefinite strike in front of the school.
Abhijit Deepke shared a video message on social media alleging that CJP leaders were forcibly stopped from going to the school and were assaulted. He made it clear that his party will continue to raise its voice for the poor condition of government schools and the rights of children to education and will not back down in the face of any kind of pressure or hooliganism.
'If action is not taken within 48 hours, I will come to Jaipur'
Abhijeet Deepke said in his statement that if the repair work of the school is not started within 48 hours and the attackers are not arrested, then he will reach Jaipur and stage a protest at the main gate of the school. He also called upon his workers and supporters to reach Jaipur in large numbers and warned that if necessary, this protest would be turned into a big movement like Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Along with this, Deepke demanded immediate withdrawal of the controversial circular of the Rajasthan government, under which a ban has been imposed on entering government schools without prior permission and making photo-videos. He says that such orders should not be used to hide the shortcomings and poor condition of schools.
CJP's allegation- 'BJP people attacked'
Giving details of the incident, CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka alleged that the protest was planned even before the team reached Rampura Kanwarpura village in Bagru assembly constituency of Jaipur. He claims that CJP workers were stopped from entering the village and politically instigated people misbehaved and clashed with them.
Ranka claimed through a social media post that this primary school was being run in a buffalo stable (animal shed) for a long time. When the party team arrived to highlight the plight, they were allegedly pelted with stones, beaten up and the glasspanes of their vehicles broken. Ranka made serious allegations while holding Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar responsible for this entire incident.
Arvind Kejriwal also targeted BJP
Regarding this incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal also made a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party. Kejriwal wrote on social media that CJP volunteers were fatally attacked, their clothes were torn and vehicles were vandalized.
Kejriwal raised the question and said that if the children of the country get educated, then what problem does BJP have with it? He said that instead of improving the condition of government schools and attacking those demanding good education, the government should focus on the infrastructure of schools and the education of children.
What is the whole controversy regarding Jaipur school?
The incident started on Friday morning when the CJP team had come to inspect the government primary school located in Rampura Kanwarpura village of Bagru assembly constituency of Jaipur district. CJP alleges that the school is running in a dilapidated animal shed and children are forced to study without basic facilities.
On the other hand, local villagers while talking to the media said that they themselves are capable of carrying out the development and repair work of the school. According to the villagers, an amount of about Rs 12.5 lakh has been sanctioned by the government for the renovation of this school. He expressed displeasure over the unauthorized entry of outsiders into the village and spoiling the atmosphere.
Police stance on the matter
Giving information about the case, Shivdaspura police station in-charge Dharam Singh said that the preliminary investigation has not confirmed any serious assault on anyone, but there was an altercation and clash between the villagers and CJP workers. Police say that civil defense personnel have been deployed in the area to keep the situation normal and at present no formal written complaint has been received from any party. Some injured people are reported to have been taken to SMS Hospital in Jaipur after the incident, and the police are continuously monitoring the village to maintain law and order.
Controversy increased due to government restrictions
This entire incident is also related to the recent order of the Rajasthan Government, in which entry of outsiders, media persons without permission and making of photo-videos has been banned inside government schools. The government argues that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and privacy of the students. Whereas CJP and other social organizations are strongly opposing this order, they say that under the guise of such rules, the poor condition of government schools is being prevented from being exposed.
'We will have to get the school repaired'
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke in his message reiterated that his party will not back down under pressure and will continue its campaign to improve the condition of schools. This case of Jaipur has come to light at a time when there is debate across the country regarding the poor condition of government educational institutions, lack of classrooms, drinking water and toilet facilities.
