If you want a ticket, step down! Akhilesh Yadav’s new strategy intensifies the stir in SP

Tezzbuzz Desk – Akhilesh Yadav has started a major organizational change in the Samajwadi Party in view of the 2027 assembly elections. The SP chief has given a clear message that the leaders who want to contest the assembly elections will have to first resign from the post of the organization. This decision of the party is being seen as a “do or die” strategy for the 2027 elections.

Actually, Samajwadi Party does not want the organization and electoral claims to go together. The party believes that if the District President or office bearer takes over the organization while being in the race for the ticket, then factionalism and internal strife will increase. For this reason, now the leaders who wish to contest elections have been asked to step down.

After this decision, many leaders have also started resigning from organizational posts. Reebu Srivastava has left his post in preparation to contest the elections. Munindra Shukla also resigned from the post of District President to stake claim from Bithoor seat. Bareilly SP President Shivcharan Kashyap and Muzaffarnagar District President Zia Chaudhary have also expressed their desire to contest the elections and offered to step down.

Political experts believe that Akhilesh Yadav does not want any kind of confusion in ticket distribution and organization this time. The party’s focus is on those seats where it was defeated by a very narrow margin in 2022. The SP leadership believes that if there is better coordination and discipline in the organization, then the chances of returning to power in 2027 can be strong.

In fact, Samajwadi Party has done a similar experiment in the Lok Sabha elections also. At that time Naresh Uttam Patel was removed from the post of State President and elections were contested and he became an MP. Now preparations are being considered to implement the same model on a large scale in the assembly elections.

In the recent party meeting, Akhilesh Yadav had clearly warned the district heads not to take “contract” for giving ticket to any leader. He had said that if any organization official wants to contest elections, he should first resign and then present his claim.

Political analysts believe that the party will definitely get organizational benefit from this decision, but it is difficult to believe that dissatisfaction will end completely. However, the SP leadership believes that BJP can be challenged in 2027 only by stopping factionalism and creating strong coordination.
