Sultanpur, Read: The path to obtaining personal loans is going to be easy for women associated with self-help groups. Now women will be able to apply online through ILA application. Bank Sakhi will complete the application process, after which the application will reach the Jan Samarth portal. From here the concerned banks will proceed with the loan approval process. The new system will provide relief to women from visiting banks and will open up new opportunities for self-employment.
Preparations have started to make this system effective under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Recently, mission managers have been given training on ILA application. Now, on behalf of the Mission Managers, Bank Sakhis will be given training on the operation of the application and the process of online application. After this, Bank Sakhiya will play an important role in providing personal loans to the women of the group.
Bank loan offers will be visible as soon as documents are uploaded
Mission Manager Neeraj Srivastava said that while applying on the ILA application, women will have to upload necessary documents including bank account, Aadhar card, PAN card. After all the necessary information and documents are submitted, the banks that have signed MOU with the Government of India will display their respective loan offers on the application. The woman will be able to apply under the available loan options as per her requirement. After this the application will automatically reach the Jan Samarth portal, from where the concerned bank will complete the loan approval process.
The bank will have to explain the reason for refusing to give loan.
In the new system, it will be mandatory to give written information in case the bank refuses to give loan. With this, women will be able to get information about the status of the application and the reasons for loan rejection. With the completion of the process through online application and portal, women will not need to visit the bank again and again.
Will not have to depend on the group
Till now, women associated with self-help groups used to get financial assistance for self-employment mainly through the group. They faced difficulties in obtaining loans at personal level. Many times, due to bank formalities and hassles, women were not able to move forward with their plans to start their own business.
If the process of personal loan becomes easier through Ila application, women will be able to start various self-employment activities including sewing, shop, animal husbandry, food processing. This is expected to increase the economic independence of women and improve the family income and standard of living.
