In North 24 Parganas, TMC is leading on 17 seats, BJP is leading on 14 seats.
Knews Desk-The contest is becoming very interesting in the trends of West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026. A close contest is being seen between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to preliminary data, TMC is leading on 17 seats in North 24 Parganas district, while BJP is leading on 14 seats.
Similarly, in Howrah, TMC is leading on 13 seats and BJP is leading on only three seats. Even in the state capital Kolkata, TMC appears to be in a strong position with a lead on seven seats, while BJP is ahead on three seats. On the other hand, BJP has maintained the balance by taking lead in districts like Cooch Vihar and Malda.
These trends indicate that the traditional linguistic and regional divisions in the state seem to be weakening and voters are giving priority to development and local issues. Although the final results are yet to come, the picture currently points towards a tough and multilateral contest.
