UP Education: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, important initiatives have been taken towards developing PM Shri Schools of Uttar Pradesh as strong centers of public participation and community engagement with education. A special ‘Mera Gaon-Mera Vidyalaya’ program will be organized in 1,565 PM Shri schools of the state in November. A total financial limit of ₹46.95 lakh has been fixed for 1,565 PM Shree schools for the ‘Mera Gaon-Mera Vidyalaya’ event.
Through the ‘Mera Gaon-Mera Vidyalaya’ programme, efforts are being made to connect PM Shri schools with the local community, increase participation of parents and give a platform to the talents of children. This initiative, prepared in partnership with school, family and village community, is an important step towards further strengthening PM Shri Schools as centers of learning, participation and development at the local level by connecting children’s education with social support.
Partnership between school and community will get a new dimension
Through the ‘Mera Gaon-Mera Vidyalaya’ program, participation of parents, school management committee members, Gram Panchayat representatives, local public representatives, retired officers-employees, teachers and other local influential persons will be ensured by connecting the school with its social environment. By bringing these on a common platform, the education, enrolment, retention and learning process of children will be made more enriching. During this time, the community will also be given information about school activities and various schemes related to holistic education.
From rally to sports, children’s talent will get a platform
During this period, there will be activities like rally/prabhatpheri, drama and story-reading, exhibition of posters and artefacts and sports competitions. Along with this, active participation of children, parents and community will be ensured through activities like signature campaign and selfie point. There is also a provision in the program to honor the outstanding performing students of the school by the guests, which will encourage enthusiasm and confidence in the children towards achievement.
Message of awareness towards child rights
A signature campaign will also be conducted in support of child rights in the event. Through this, community participation will be increased towards children’s education and protection by making parents and village community aware about the rights of children.
