India’s number-1 T20 International bowler Varun Chakraborty has been ruled out of the Ireland tour. He will not be able to play the 2-match T20 International series against Ireland. The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI gave this information on Sunday (June 21). BCCI told that Varun Chakraborty (Varun Chakravarthy) Due to injury he will not be able to play the T20 series against Ireland.

He was selected in the team for both the Ireland and England series, but is currently rehabbing at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. His availability against England will depend on fitness. According to BCCI, the final decision on his return will be taken after the advice of the medical team.

How did Varun Chakraborty get injured?

India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty was injured while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2026. During the tournament, Chakraborty suffered a serious injury to his left leg, from which he has not been able to recover yet. Varun Chakraborty’s exit from Team India is no less than a big blow for India, because he is India’s number-1 T20 bowler. At the same time, he is the second highest ranked T20 international bowler in the world.

India vs Ireland T20 schedule

Indian T20 team is going to tour Ireland. On this tour, a 2-match T20 International series will be played between India and Ireland.
