Team India beware! Zimbabwe has defeated India so many times in T20, last time it was upset in the beginning itself.

IND vs ZIM: The T20 series between India and Zimbabwe is going to start in 2 days. The Indian team has reached Zimbabwe and started preparations for this series. A total of 3 T20 match series will be played between the two teams, which will start from July 23. After the recent crushing defeats against Ireland and England, Team India will now have to be careful against Zimbabwe. India may have the upper hand against Zimbabwe, but Zimbabwe has defeated India thrice in T20.

Team India has also lost under the captaincy of Shubman Gill in the year 2024.

The Indian team last visited Zimbabwe 2 years ago in 2024. Senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were given rest. Whereas Shubman Gill was made the captain. In the very first match of the series, West Indies had increased the tension of Team India by defeating them by 13 runs. However, after this, Team India made a spectacular comeback by winning 4 consecutive matches and won the series 4-1.

Zimbabwe defeated India for the first time in T20 in 2015. In that match played at the Sports Club of Harare, Team India lost by 10 runs. After this, again in the year 2016, Zimbabwe team was successful in defeating India. Zimbabwe won by 2 runs. Before this, the last time India and Zimbabwe faced each other was in the T20 World Cup 2026, when India had won by 72 runs.

Zimbabwe also has its eyes on defeating Team India

A total of 14 T20 matches have been played between India and Zimbabwe so far, out of which Team India has won 11 matches, while Zimbabwe team has managed to win 3 matches. India certainly has the upper hand, but looking at the performance of Team India in the last two series, Zimbabwe team might also be thinking that it can also defeat India in the series.

Captain Shreyas Iyer still waiting for first win after 7 matches

This T20 series match to be played between India and Zimbabwe will be a litmus test for captain Shreyas Iyer. Ever since Iyer became the captain, the performance of Team India has been very disappointing. The Indian team not only had to lose the T20 match to Ireland for the first time, but also lost the series for the first time. Ireland made a clean sweep of Team India in the 2 T20 match series. Soon after this, the Indian team also suffered a shameful defeat on the England tour, where India was defeated for the first time in T20 on English soil. Under the captaincy of Iyer, Team India has played 7 T20 matches so far, but it is still searching for its first win. In such a situation, Team India needs to be careful that Zimbabwe also does not cause any upset.
