In a statement issued from the party headquarters Anna Arivalyam in Chennai, the DMK said that the party has been continuously fighting on several important issues related to democracy, secularism and states’ rights. These include NEET examination, constituency realignment, Special Scrutiny of Electoral Rolls (SIR), functioning of Election Commission, ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, Waqf Act and amendments to Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

DMK has been an important pillar of India Aghadi since its inception. Party President M.K. Stalin (MKStalin) took the initiative to strengthen the leading role on many issues at the national level.

Serious allegations against Congress

In its statement, the DMK referred to the alleged ‘betrayal’ by the Congress after the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The DMK clarified that it had decided not to attend the meeting in which the Congress was present, saying party workers were upset and hurt by the developments. At the same time, the party has stated that boycotting the meeting does not mean withdrawing from national issues. The party also clarified that it will continue its struggle on NEET, Waqf Act, One Nation-One Election and other issues of public interest, as well as support allies on issues of national interest.

The controversy over the Rajya Sabha seats increased

Meanwhile, C. The Joseph Vijay-led party has decided to give the vacant Rajya Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu to the Congress. This decision is being considered as a big political relief for the Congress. It is believed that this decision has been taken as the support of Congress is important for the stability of the government in the state. However, DMK has criticized this decision. Party spokesperson A. Sarvanan has hit the mark. This seat has been given to the Congress to avoid a direct clash with the BJP in Parliament. “The TVK does not want to take a direct stand against the BJP in Parliament, so the responsibility has been handed over to the Congress,” he alleged.

Due to this decision of the DMK, the internal differences in front of India Aghadi have been revealed once again, and the possibility of the impact of this controversy in the upcoming political events is being expressed.
