On India’s help, Jagdish Kharel, spokesperson of Nepal’s ruling Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSP, said, “We are grateful for the concern and kindness of the Indian side. On behalf of Nepal and the ruling party, we heartily thank the people of India, the Government of India and PM Modi for their kind words.”

However, he said the government was still assessing whether international help was needed. The Ministry of External Affairs, PMO and party office are together deciding how, why and how much help is required. This will be decided soon but the help from India and neighboring countries is very important for Nepal, as was proved in the 2015 earthquake.

Action after 95 deaths, C-130J flew from Hindon at 8:35 pm

95 people have died in the flash flood near Tibet border in Nepal and there has been massive destruction. Just hours after the conversation between PM Modi and Balendra Shah, India sent the first consignment of relief on Wednesday night.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India has sent 10 tonnes of HADR material and essential medicines. Relief material was sent by C-130J aircraft of the Indian Air Force. The plane took off for Kathmandu from Hindon airbase near Delhi at around 8:35 pm. “Our teams are closely coordinating with Nepalese authorities for rescue and relief efforts,” Modi said. Jaishankar wrote on X, “India stands with Nepal and its people in this hour of challenge.”
