In this Chess Olympiad, India won a total of one gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
On India's excellent performance in Chess Olympiad 2026, All India Chess Federation President Nitin Narang described the performance of the Indian team as special. He said that India has won the Nona Gaprindashvili Cup for the third consecutive time. This award is given on the basis of combined performance of the team in Open and Women category.

Team India's performance in Chess Olympiad 2026
Savita Shree, who was on board 5 in the women's category, played brilliantly throughout the tournament. She scored 9 points in 10 matches and remained unbeaten. With this performance he confirmed the gold medal on his board.
In the open category, world champion D Gukesh played 11 games on board 4 and scored 8.5 points. He got the silver medal. Whereas, in the women's category on Board-3, Divya Deshmukh won silver by scoring 6.5 points in 10 games.

R in open category. Praggnanand scored 6.5 points in 10 games on Board-1 and won the bronze medal. In the women's category, Koneru Humpy won the bronze medal on board 1 with 7 points in 10 games. Vantika Aggarwal also performed brilliantly on Board-4 of the women's category. He scored six points in eight games and won the bronze medal.
